Key facts about our organisation

Leading Young is a global movement of leaders who support one another to tackle persistent and emerging issues in their communities, with a key focus on developing effective and influential leaders with strong effectual values in different spheres of influence.

2014

Leading Young started as an 8-week leadership program based on a book of the same title:Leading Young by the ICC Nairobi senior pastor, Bishop Gibson Anduvate.

2018

Leading Young embarked on a novel leadership program that began with a pilot phase targeting young individuals elected into public offices such as Senators, Women Representatives, Members of Parliament and Members of County Assembly.

2019 & 2020

Commenced a 1- year Fellowship program intentionally targeting Members of County Assembly known as The Leading Young Fellowship.

2021

The need of greater engagement was realised through the launch of The Leading Young Masterclass that targeted specific areas of growth for young leaders in elected offices.

Visionary program for young leaders in christian ministry was also launched.

2018

The official launch of novel leadership program.

2020

The Inaugural 2020 Fellowship Program featured 45 young elected leaders across Kenya.

2021

The Leading Young Master Class emerged as an advanced learning course for the Leading Young Fellowship alumni. The sessions offered specific additional content towards their leadership growth. In addition, their individual coaching sessions continued to challenge them to goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound.

In September of 2021, 28 learners completed and graduated from the intensive program of coaching, virtual workshops. All were young parliamentarians serving the public in appointed and elected offices in Kenya.

2021 – 2022

The Leading Young Visionary is designed to benefit young people who serve as Pastors and Church Ministers with the same transformational leadership content that was offered to the parliamentarians. The program is also executed for social impact as a way to give back to the community. In 2021 the program engaged 19 participants under 40 years.
